According to the results announced by Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP), Pakistan Muslim League (N) candidate won in PP-79 Sargodha-VIII constituency with 54237 votes.

In 2013 general elections, Pakistan Muslim League (N) candidate MEHR KHALID MAHMOOD SARGANA was elected as Member Provincial Assembly (MPA) with 29052 votes. The second runner up was Independent candidate LT COL R GHAZANFAR ABBAS SHAH who got 28746 votes.

At least 22 candidates from different political parties and independent candidates contested in PP-79. In 2013 elections, there were 151961 voters registered in PP-79, out of which 101232 votes were polled out.
