PPP Still Waiting For Justice After 11 Years Of Murder Of Shaheed Benazir: Sardar Muhammad Latif Khosa

Senior leader of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Sardar Muhammad Latif Khosa on Tuesday said murder of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto was a national tragedy and even after 11 years of the incident, PPP was awaiting for justice.

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 20th Nov, 2018 ) :Senior leader of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Sardar Muhammad Latif Khosa on Tuesday said murder of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto was a national tragedy and even after 11 years of the incident, PPP was awaiting for justice.

Addressing a press conference along with Farhatullah Babar, Sardar Latif Khosa said Benazir Bhutto's was murdered 11 years ago on December 27 and after the incident the crime scene was washed out. The FIR of the case was registered by an Inspector, he said adding that Central Police Officer Saud Aziz, who was the blue eyed of the then government, one and a half hours before the murder removed Superintendent of Police and security from the site of crime. He mentioned postmortem of the deceased was also not done.

Khosa said in the house of Rafaqat Hussain and Gul Hasnain, the suicide attackers were trained and it was proved that the mobile phones in their possession were used in the crime and they pleaded guilty in a statement before the magistrate. Irrefutable evidence was present in the murder of Benazir Bhutto and the United Nations team reported that the conspiracy was hatched at the highest level, he added.

He said the conspiracy was not hatched at the level of CPO and SP level police officers, adding Pervez Musharraf who was named in the case, left the country.

He said when Pervez Musharraf was attacked, the crime site was sealed for three days and the chip of the mobile phone used in the crime was recovered from the roof of the petrol pump close to the crime scene.

Khosa said when the case was near completion, Musharraf became an absconder and he was intentionally outside the country. Anti-Terrorism Court despite all the evidence and confessions freed some of the accused. Police officer Saud Aziz and Khurram Shehzad were sentenced by the court but during the appeals, their sentences were repealed and the accused were set free, he added.

He appealed to the Supreme Court to rectify the decisions in the court cases of martyred PPP leaderBenazir Bhutto and the double standards in the justice system should be avoided.

The murder of Benazir Bhutto was a national tragedy, he said adding that the courts should be impartial and act according to law and should dispense justice across the board. He said the Supreme Court and court for constitutional matters should be separated. He denied that People Party gave guard of honour to Pervez Musharraf. The PPP leader said people were the fountain of democracy in the country but the present government was bypassing the legislature.
