PR To Provide Facility Of Coal,Cement Transportation To Cherat Cement

LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 26th May, 2017 ) : The Pakistan Railways will provide facilities of transportation of cement and coal to the Cherat Cement company. This was decided in a meeting between a delegation of Cherat Cement Company led by its CEO Malik Azam Farooq and CEO Pakistan Railways Javed Anwar held at PR Headquarters here on Friday.
The PR CEO said the Railways was providing services of transportation of oil,cement and coal under the agreements with PSO and Maple Leaf. "Recently PSO has doubled the business with the Pakistan Railways under Fuel Transportation Agreement," he added.
Similarly, the Maple Leaf also intended in increasing the business of Rs 1 billion to Rs 2 billion with the PR, he said.
Javed said that the freight sector had a lot of potential and after the import of US locomotives freight sector was able to work with more capability.
The CEO Cherat Cements said that Railways had revolutionized the freight sector and they were interested in doing an agreement for transport of coal from Karachi to Peshawar and cement to various cities of Punjab. AGM Traffic Abdul Hamid Razi from Railways and Ahmed Shoaib Khalid from Cherat Cements have been appointed to draft the agreement between the both department.
