Preparations to celebrate 71st Independence Day with national enthusiasm completed in KP

PESHAWAR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 13th Aug, 2018 ) :All preparations to celebrate the 71st Independence Day of Pakistan on Tuesday with national enthusiasm were completed in Khyber Pakhunkhwa including the recently merged seven tribal districts and frontier regions.

Where all major buildings, markets, vehicles and houses have been artistically illuminated to mark the momentous day in most befitting manner.

The main ceremony would be held at Malik Saad Shaheed Police Lines Peshawar where national flag would be hoisted followed by playing of national anthem and patriotic songs by school children.

Caretaker Chief Minister (CM), Justice (R) Dost Muhammad Khan as Chief Guest besides interim provincial ministers and newly elected members of the KP Assembly is expected to attend the events.

Flag hoisting ceremonies related functions were planned at KP Assembly Building Peshawar, Peshawar High Court, DC Office, Pakistan Railways, headquarters of Frontier Constabulary (FC), University of Peshawar, Engineering University of Science and Technology, Agriculture University, Pakistan Forest Institute Peshawar and others national and private organizations in connection of the day.

Children and students of the government and private schools and colleges will present national anthem, songs, tableaus and participate in declamation contests to pay tributes to heroes of Pakistan besides highlighting the struggle made by our forefathers led by Father of the Nation Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah for creation of a separate homeland for the Muslim of Sub-Continent.

All the cities, towns and villages of Khyber Pakthunkhwa decorated with green and white colors with national flags hoisting on houses, vehicles, markets, bazaars and vehicles by people to express their love with motherland.

This Independence Day carried significant importance for the nation as a new Government is being formed in the country including in four provinces where PTI is all set to establish a strong government in Centre, KP and Punjab besides a coalition government in Balochistan while PPP was in a strong position to form government in Sindh.

The day will dawn with 21-gun salute at provincial capital of Khyber Pakthunkhwa and special prayers in mosques where people would offer special prayers for progress, development and prosperity of the country besides eternal peace of all martyrs of Pakistan Movement.

Tomorrow (Tuesday) would be observed as public holiday and all the government and private departments, colleges and schools would remain closed.

All major buildings including Deans Trade Centre, KP Assembly and Peshawar High Court, Peshawar Museum, Governor and Chief Minister Houses, PDA, FC headquarters, offices of Chief Secretary and IGP, Islamia College University, University of Peshawar etc were beautifully illuminated with colorful buntings looking festive look especially during night.

In Peshawar, great enthusiasm is being witnessed among people who were thronged to bazaars on Monday to buy national flags, caps, badges and other items associated with Independence Day celebrations.

The citizens, students, children and women are showcasing their love for the country through buying flags, buntings, or by painting their faces green and white where models of national organizations and monuments like Islamia College Peshawar, Minar e Pakistan and Quaid e Azam Residency are being sold like a hot cake.

Qisakhwani Bazaar, the biggest wholesale market for decoration items in Peshawar, was teeming with buyers mostly of youth, students and children on Monday where shopkeepers have set up special stalls to sell colourful buntings, national flags, masks, banners, T-shirts, hats, bangles, badges, wrist bands and models all green and white clours on eve of independence day.

Malaika Fakhar, who came with his father to Peshawar from Nowshera to select national flags, stickers and badges at Qissa Khwani bazaar told APP that he was very pleased to see so many sizes of buntings, flags and stickers with green and white clours.

"I have purchased 1200 stickers, flags, models and badges for myself, friends, class fellows and relatives to celebrate the day in most befitting manner," he said.

"A comprehensive programme has been planned by me along with my friends to come to Peshawar again on August 14 to watch national flag hoisting ceremonies and fireworks display on night of August 13-14," he said.

PTV and Radio Pakistan will telecast and air special programs while APP will release new stories and articles of independence day related functions. Private tv channels and newspapers will also air special programs and publish supplements in connection with the day.
