Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs, Ali Muhammad Khan on Tuesday said the previous government of Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) and its finance minister Ishaq Dar were responsible for destroying the national economy and the government did not have any other option except approaching International Monetary Fund (IMF) for a bail out package to put the economy back on track.
The government was taking concrete measures for strengthening the national economy and hard decisions were being taken in that regard, he said while talking to a private news channel.
He said fruitful visits of the prime minister to Saudi Arabia and China reflected the successful foreign policy of the government.
Replying to a question, he said the government had negotiated with those giving sit-in and ended it peacefully, adding cases were registered against those who had destroyed public properties during the recent protest and sit -in.
Ali Muhammad Khan said after completion of first 100 days of the government we would brief the masses as well as media on measures taken during the period.
He said time was required to improve the governance and strengthen the national institutions.
The minister said the government was following directions of Prime Minister Imran Khan for resolving the problems of people.
