Prices, Quality Of Food Items Checked In Dera’s Market

Dera Ismail Khan, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 27th Jul, 2024) Assistant Commissioner Dera Ismail Khan, and Muhammad Fasih Ishaq Abbasi on Saturday paid a surprise visit to the various bazaars and markets to check prices and the quality of food items.

According to the district administration, the AC undertook the visit in line with directives of Deputy Commissioner Ms Sarah Rehman to ensure edible items at affordable prices.

He inspected Zafarabad and checked the quantity and quality of vegetables, fruits, meat, and other grocery items.

He directed the shopkeepers to adhere to officially notified price lists and warned them against overcharging people.

During the inspection, he found several shopkeepers involved in overcharging the customers and maintaining poor hygiene standards.

He imposed fine on the violators and said that operations against profiteers would continue indiscriminately and in this regard, no one would be allowed to take the law into their own hands.

AC Dera also inspected different medical stores in the city, during the visit, the quality of medicines, the cleanliness of the medical stores, the expiry of medicines and the licenses of the medicine sellers were checked.

He warned the medical store operators to avoid selling non-standard and expired drugs and to take special care of cleanliness.

He also appealed to the people to register their complaints so that timely action could be taken against violators.
