Prime Minister Imran Khan has emphasized on long term planning to protect depleting green areas in Karachi and to tackle issues being faced by the residents of Pakistan's biggest city
ISLAMABAD (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News / NNI - 18th March, 2019) Prime Minister Imran Khan has emphasized on long term planning to protect depleting green areas in Karachi and to tackle issues being faced by the residents of Pakistan's biggest city.He was chairing a review meeting in Islamabad on Monday regarding progress on various development projects, including GreenLine project, being completed in Karachi under the Federal government.The Prime Minister called for measures to overcome the issue of growing population of Karachi and challenges like climate change in the city.He said in view of climate change, the issue of environment should be given utmost attention, while completing all development projects in big cities like Karachi.
Imran Khan said main objective of development projects started in Sindh, particularly Karachi, is to help the provincial government in tackling issues being faced by the people.
He said it is imperative for the federal and the provincial governments to join hands in completing projects meant for public welfare.A detailed briefing was also given to the meeting about the progress and effectiveness of GreenLine project.Those, who attended the meeting, include Governor Sindh Imran Ismail, Prime Minister's Special Assistant on Media Iftikhar Durrani, Prime Minister's Spokesperson Nadeem Afzal Chan and other senior officers of the Sindh and the federal governments.
