Prime Minister Imran Khan and former Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Mian Saqib Nisar will lay foundation stone of Mohmand dam on May 2.Government has awarded the contract of construction of dam to Descon Company

Islamabad (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 30th April, 2019) Prime Minister Imran Khan and former Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Mian Saqib Nisar will lay foundation stone of Mohmand dam on May 2.Government has awarded the contract of construction of dam to Descon Company.Rs 183 billion will be spent on the project.Dam will be constructed at River Swat in K-P province.

Dam will generate 800 mega watts of electricity besides water storage capacity of 1.2 MAF.Locals of Charsadda, Nowshera and Peshawar will also be saved from flooding water after construction of Dam.16,000 acre additional land will be brought under cultivation besides supplying water to 1, 60,000 acre land.Locals of Peshawar will be provided 300 million gallon clear drinking water.Dam will yield benefit of Rs 52 million annually benefit .
