ISLAMABAD (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News / NNI - 22nd March, 2019) Prime Minister Imran Khan Friday chaired a meeting on Naya Pakistan Housing Program at Prime Minister's Office.The meeting was attended by Finance Minister Asad Umar, Housing Minister Ch.
Tariq Bashir Cheema, Planning Minister Makhdoom Khusro Bakhtiar, Advisor to PM Mr. Abdul Razzak Dawood, SAPM Mr. Iftikhar Durrani, Secretary Housing, Secretary Finance and senior officials.The Prime Minister was informed that the legislation for Naya Pakistan Housing Program has been finalized and soon it would be presented to Cabinet Committee on Legislative Cases before being tabled in the Parliament.It was informed that four sites at Islamabad, one in Lahore and other in Quetta was ready for formal launch of the Naya Pakistan Housing Program.
It was decided that the Prime Minister will perform groundbreaking of these initial projects during second week of April.
Discussing the issue of allowing vertical structure, it was decided that the modal being followed in the Federal capital would be replicated in all major cities of the country while addressing the issue of granting permission for construction of high-rise buildings.The Prime Minister in his remarks stated that 05 million Housing Program is a flagship program of the Government which will boost economy by creation of job opportunities for the youth and businesses for allied sectors of construction industry.The Prime Minister said that implementation of 05 million housing program, the main plank of Pakistan Tehreek Insaaf manifesto, will fulfill the dream of affordable housing for the low income segment of the population.
The Prime Minister directed that the process of legislation should be expedited and seamless coordination should be ensured at federal as well as provincial level. NNI
