LAHORE (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 16th March, 2019) Pakistan Steel Association Chairman Khalid Jahangir Butt on Saturday said protest against FBR oppressive campaign in Lahore is their right.
Jahangir Butt appealed Prime Minister Imran Khan to take notice of the FBR oppressive measures against traders and bring to justice the responsible officials.He said registering a case against 10 trader leaders reflects dirty approach of the FBR.
The PSA chief said trader community will stand united against the oppressive actions of the FBR and will expose all its corruption and corrupt practices.According to details, the NoLakha police stations had registered a case against 10 traders for inciting violence.
Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry President Almas Hameed, National Trader President Malik Khalid, and eight others.
Khalid Butt, in a statement on Saturday, said FBR is consecutively imposing taxes on the trader community while the real tax evaders were being protected.
He said a democratic government is responsible to ensure provision of rights of all stakeholders, adding that it seems like FBR is a department of oppressors.He said registering cases against those protesting for their rights is a highly condemnable act and reflection of a dictatorship.
Butt said Prime Minister Imran Khan had asked the FBR to collect taxes by creating a friendly environment, instead of harassing them, but the FBR incompetent officers following the oppressive measures against traders in the country.The traders' leader appealed to Imran Khan to remove cases against traders immediately and take action against the responsible officials.
