Providing Assistance To Women Against Domestic Violence Need Of Hour: Ms. Saira Atta

Women's Development Department Secretary Ms. Saira Atta on Wednesday said providing medical and legal assistance to women against domestic violence was vital for empowerment of women
She expressed these views while presiding over a meeting of Provincial Standing Committee here which was also attended by Aurat Foundation's Aludin Khilji, UN Women Social Welfare and various social organizations representatives.
She said that Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Women's Center and Shelter Homes were fully functional in Quetta, Sibi and Khuzdar and rendering services to provide legal assistance to women for securing their rights.
Shelter homes playing vital role in restoring mental and social well-being of the women residing in these areas.
"Depriving women of their legitimate rights give rise to many social issues", she opined.
Women comprise half of our total population and they should be empowered both financially and politically, she added.
She remarked that women play key role in the development of any society, adding that all forums would be loomed for raising voice against domestic violence on women.
She urged all stakeholders to come forward and aware society regarding rights of women.
