Provincial Development Working Party (PDWP) Approves Rs 981.035 Mln Development Projects

The Provincial Development Working Party (PDWP) Tuesday approved Rs 981.035 million five projects in different sectors

PESHAWAR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 23rd Apr, 2019 ) :The Provincial Development Working Party (PDWP) Tuesday approved Rs 981.035 million five projects in different sectors.

The committee meeting chaired by Dr Shahzad Khan Bangash, the Additional Chief Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa cleared 14 projects of Agriculture and Water sectors recommended to Federal Government for inclusion in PSDP 2019-20 while one project was deferred due to inadequate design and returned to respective department for rectification.

The meeting was attended by members of PDWP, representatives of concerned departments and Tribal Districts.

The forum considered a total 20 projects pertaining to different sectors including Agriculture, Elementary and Secondary Education, Roads, Irrigation and sports Sectors for the uplift of the province, however approved 5 projects.

The approved projects of Elementary and Secondary education sector were "Upgradation of Educational Institution to High school and Higher Secondary School in District South Waziristan, Establishment of Governor Model Schools in District South Waziristan".

In road sector "Construction of BT road in Ladha District South Waziristan, Construction of BT road in Sarwekai District South Waziristan" was approved.

"Rehabilitation and Improvement of Canal petrol Roads in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Construction of Mulkoh, Kosht and Kagh Lasht Irrigation Scheme, District Chitral, Construction of Marginal Bund on Right-Side of River Indus downstream of Dera Darya Khan Bridge District D.

I. Khan was also approved.

The approved project of Sports and Tourism sector was "Rehabilitation and Construction of Sports Facilities in District South Waziristan.

The committee referred following projects of Agriculture sector were cleared by PDWP and recommended to Federal Government for inclusion in PSDP 2019-20.

"Water Conservation in Barani Areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (ADP/PSDP funded), National Program for enhancing command area of small and mini dams in Barani areas of Pakistan (Khyber Pakhtunkhwa component) (ADP/PSDP funded), National Program for improvement of water courses in Pakistan (ADP/PSDP funded), Feedlot Fattening Program In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa( ADP/PSDP funded), Save The Calf Program In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa( ADP/PSDP funded), Poverty alleviation through development of rural poultry in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (ADP/PSDP funded), Development of cold water fisheries in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (ADP/PSDP funded), Wheat productivity enhancement project in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (ADP/PSDP funded), Productivity enhancement of sugar cane in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (ADP/PSDP funded), Productivity enhancement of rice in the potential areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (ADP/PSDP funded), National oilseeds enhancement program in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (ADP/PSDP funded)".
