PTI Govt Poor Policies Mar Education, Health Sectors In KP: Ikhtair Wali

PESHAWAR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 28th Jul, 2024) Pakistan Muslim League-N Provincial Secretary Information and former Member Provincial Assembly, Ikhtair Wali Khan here on Sunday claimed that the poor policies of PTI Government has marred the education and health sectors in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa where problems of the people increased manifolds.
He further claimed that about 18 universities out of 34 public sector universities in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa were being closed, putting the careers of thousands of students at stake.
In a statement here, the PMLN leader said that the higher education sector has been put on the verge of economic collapse in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa as evidenced by the recent statement of Chief Minister KP about selling the lands of universities.
In such a grim situation, he said that thousands of students would be deprived of education and the problem of unemployment would be further increased in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
He said that PMLN would not allow anyone to deprive thousands of students of higher education in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The PMLN leader said that shutting down of large number of universities was tantamount to promoting illiteracy, unemployment, and poverty in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa where literacy and unemployment rates were already high.
The poor fiscal and monetary policies of PTI had plunged the country into price hike and inflation, he said and added that the price of a 20 kg flour bag was at Rs600 during the Government of Muhammad Nawaz Sharif while it jumped to a record high of Rs3,000 per bag during the Govt of PTI founder.
Similarly, a record increase in prices of electricity, gas, and daily use commodities was witnessed during the PTI Government rule.
Ikhtair Wali Khan said during Nawaz Sharif Govt, the GDP crossed the 6.
8 percent mark, and that Pakistan was declared an emerging economy by the top international economic monetary institutions while the IMF program was closed courtesy of PMLN Govt goal-oriented economic policies.
He said the loan burden in our Govt was about Rs27000 billion which jumped to a record high of Rs54000 billion during the Govt of PTI founder.
The billion trees project was taken over by NAB and the Peshawar High Court besides PTI Government development projects were restricted only to social media.
He asked the CM KP to tell people about his Government policy on fighting terrorism after announcing to opposed anti-terror operations during Bannu public meeting.
He said the surge in terrorism incidents in southern districts including the home district of CM KP has put a serious question mark on the security policy of the KP Govt, adding people of Pakistan knew about a political party that facilitated the enemy of peace to come back to KP after successful operation Zarb e Azab and Raadul Faasad.
Ikhtair Wali said that about Rs500 billion were provided to the PTI government for strengthening and equipping CTD and Police, adding that had this huge fund been utilized properly then these incidents of terrorism would not occurred recently.
The PML leader said that the province was put under a heavy loan burden of Rs1200 billion due to poor policies of the PTI Government in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa where the party was in power for the last 12 years resulting increase in price hikes.
He alleged a rampage of corruption and nepotism in the posting and transfers in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, adding tall claims of PTI Govt against corruption were exposed after it closed down its own Ehtesab Commission in KP.
