PTI Holds Peaceful Gathering Putting Aside Threats Of Lockdown

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 03rd Nov, 2016 ) : Pakistan Tehreek i Insaf (PTI) held a peaceful public meeting on Wednesday in a celebratory atmosphere by putting aside its threats to lockdown Islamabad.
Thousands of PTI supporters gathered to listen to their chief Imran Khan who criticised his opponents and lauded his companions for showing bravery in adverse conditions. PTI celebrated the Supreme Court decision to take up case of Panama papers.
Top leadership of PTI including Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Jehangir Tareen, Pervaiz Khattak and Sheikh Rashid made speeches. The government had made tight security arrangements and the event passed without any untoward incident.
Minister for Interior Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan was kept informed about the moment to moment situation of the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) public meeting. An Interior Ministry spokesman, in a statement, said strict security arrangements were made for the PTI's public meeting.
Contingents of Islamabad Police and Frontier Constabulary were deployed at different places. On the orders of the Interior Minister, Rangers were positioned for security of important buildings.
Strict security was put in place to ensure protection of the city and to respond immediately to any untoward incident. The minister ordered deployment of 10,000 security personnel. The minister had ordered that the participants of the public meeting should be provided complete security, however, nobody would be allowed to enter Islamabad.
The authorities were prepared for any violation of the agreement by PTI and were determined not to allow anybody from crossing the agreed limits. Police and Frontier Constabulary were ready to take action against anybody who violated law.
