PTI To Challenge Maryam Nawaz’s Appointment As PML-N Vice President

Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi questioned how she can be appointed as the vice president of the party as it is against the verdict of Supreme Court.
Islamabad (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 6th May, 2019) The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has expressed reservations over Maryam Nawaz being appointed as Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) vice president.
The PTI has decided to file a writ petition against Maryam Nawaz being appointed as the opposition party’s vice president.
Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi questioned how she can be appointed as the vice president of the party as it is against the verdict of Supreme Court.
He said that the matter will be raised at every platform, adding that the PTI is considering to reach out to the Election Commission in this regard.
PML-N president Shehbaz Sharif had announced Names of central office bearers of the party last week, including Maryam Nawaz Sharif as its Vice President.
The office bearers were appointed in consultation with Quaid of the party Nawaz Sharif and other party leaders.
According to names announced by the leadership, Ahsan Iqbal will be the Secretary General and Shahid Khaqan Abbasi will be the Senior Vice President of the party.
The Vice Presidents include Abid Sher Ali, Ayaz Sadiq, Ch Barjees Tahir, Dr Darshan Lal Punchi, Hamza Shehbaz Sharif, Khawaja Saad Rafiq, Khurram Dastgir, Maryam Nawaz Sharif, Mian Javed Latif, Muhammad Zubair, Mushahid Ullah Khan, Nelson Azeem, Pervaiz Rashid, Raheela Durrani, Rana Tanveer Hussain and Sardar Mehtab Ahmed Khan.
