PTM Group Led By Ali Wazir, Mohsin Dawar Attacked Army Checkpost: ISPR

The ISPR DG said that three attackers were killed while ten others were injured in an exchange of fire.
Lahore (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 26th May, 2019) A group, led by Pashtoon Tahaffuz Movement (PTM) leaders Mohsin Dawar and Ali Wazir, attacked the army check post in North Waziristan, Inter-Services Public Relations DG Major General Asif Ghafoor said on Sunday.
The ISPR DG said that three attackers were killed while ten others were injured in an exchange of fire. Five army personnel were also injured.
Ali Wazir has been taken into custody along with eight other accused, the ISPR said.
The attack by the group was aimed to exert pressure on the army to release suspected facilitator of terrorists, Major Ghafoor added.
A gunfire was reported as a group of PTM activists, including parliamentarians Mohsin Dawar and Ali Wazir, approached a check post in the North Waziristan area of Khar Qamar, in Boya.
According to PTM, 45 of their activists were wounded by firing.
Ali Wazir and Gul Alam are said to be in custody while Mohsin Dawar remains unharmed.
