PU Signs MoU For Community Welfare

LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 21st Oct, 2016 ) : Punjab University Department of Social Work and a community welfare organization have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for humanitarian and development initiatives in different areas at national and community level.

In this regard, an MoU signing ceremony was held at committee room of Vice Chancellor's office here on Friday. PU Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Mujahid Kamran, Principal Law College Dr Shazia Naureen Qureshi, Chairman Department of Social Work Dr Zahid Javed, Regional Director of NGO Farrukh Marvin Pervaiz and Director External Linkages Dr Maria Maldonado were present on the occasion.

Under the MoU, thematic sessions to introduce students and faculty members to key themes, including peace-building, human rights, minority and women's rights, democracy and governance and the role of media will be held.

The MoU aims at organizing joint thematic sessions for civil society as well. Leadership training workshops will be organized to equip students with knowledge and skills.
