PU Woman Teacher Arrested, Served Contempt Notice For Raising Ruckus During LHC Hearing

LAHORE- (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News- 16th April 2019) The Lahore High Court (LHC) has ordered the arrest of Punjab University teacher when she ignored repeated calls to maintain law and continued speaking loudly during court proceeding against her.
The five-member bench headed by Justice Mazahir Ali Akbar Naqvi also issued contempt of court notice to Ms Khujista Rehan. The LHC was hearing the case on Dr Nayab petition against the application of Professor Khujista Rehan of University Law College.
Khujista filed an application with the FIA that some university professors including Dr Nayab were involved in a derogatory social media campaign against her.
Dr Nayab went to the court against the Ms Rehan application in the FIA. During the proceeding, she did not listen to the court repeated warning to remain calm. She said she did not have confidence in full bench and that she would approach the Supreme Judicial Council and President of Pakistan against the bench.
She refused to calm down even when judged told her that she would be given a chance to speak. Upon this court order her arrest but she was released after a few hours and contempt notice was served to her.
