Public Accounts Committee Directs Petroleum Division To End Induction Of Employees Through Third Party

Public Accounts Committee (PAC) Chairman, Syed Khursheed Shah Tuesday directed the Petroleum Division and its attached departments to end induction of employees through third party.
ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 24th Apr, 2018 ) :Public Accounts Committee (PAC) Chairman, Syed Khursheed Shah Tuesday directed the Petroleum Division and its attached departments to end induction of employees through third party.
The PAC meeting held under the chairmanship of Khursheed Shah here at Parliament House. The committee reviewed the audit objections of 2016-17 of the Higher education Commission (HEC), Petroleum Division, and Ministry of Overseas Division.
The committee asked the divisions to regularize all employees and stop the third party system in the departments. In the meeting, the audit officials informed the committee that Pakistan State Oil paid Rs 420 million against the rules.
Managing Director Pakistan State Oil informed the committee that 210 PSO employees had gone to Supreme Court of Pakistan for their regularization to which the court had directed us to regularize them.
He said 700 employees were working on contract basis in PSO. Secretary Petroleum said the company should hire staff itself instead of involving the third party. Khursheed Shah said if the employees were made permanent then third party would be demolished.
PAC asked petroleum division and its institutions to stop third party from hiring staff. PAC also directed that in future, advertisements must be given in order to hire staff for the relevant positions.
PAC also directed the Petroleum Division and its attached departments to present the record of payments made to the third parties. The PAC meeting was attended by members MNAs including Sheikh Rohale Asghar, Ashiq Hussain Gopang, Raja Muhammad Javed Ikhlas, Syed Naveed Qamar, Dr. Afzal Azra Afzal, Jaffar Khan Leghari and Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui.
