Punjab Government To Probe Mismanagements In Rawalpindi Solid Waste Management Company

Rawalpindi (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 24th April, 2019) Provincial government has decided to initiate investigation in the alleged misappropriations and corruption occurred in Rawalpindi Solid Waste Management Company (RSWMC).In the previous tenures, mega corruptions took place in the purchase department of RSWMC, besides this ghost appointments gave loss of millions to national exchequer.A low cost land purchased on high rates for damping site, National Accountibilty Bureau (NAB) and Anti-corruption department has already started investigation to probe this matter.Low grade officers were appointed on political basis on high posts, recently Manager Admin, Khawar Bilal has appointed a new lot on political basis.
According to sources, a gang of ghost sanitary workers also registered only to embezzle the payments, they are nothing to do with the cleanliness works.On March 23, 2017 a company named AlBarak was given Rs10m to clean the area from Koral Chowk to Faizabad, inquiry committee has recommended to take back the money.Chairman RSWMC and Deputy Commissioner, Muhammad Ali Randhawa has ordered to initiate a probe, and also raised many questions on the budget of RSWMC.The audit team of local government of Punjab government has started its work and questioned about the number of employee, their duties, number of vehicles and machinery of RSWMC.
