Punjab Govt Accepts Resignation Of Asma Hamid

LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 20th Jul, 2018 ) :The Interim Punjab government has accepted the resignation of first female advocate general Punjab Asma Hamid after withdrawing earlier notification of her removal.
According to a notification issued here on Friday, the government had accepted the resignation tendered by Asma Hamid on July 10 and it would be effective from June 20.
It is pertinent to mention here that Hamid's appointment had been made in the concluding hours of former chief minister Punjab Shehbaz Sharif's regime in the province making her the first female advocate general to be appointed in the province.
However, the interim Punjab government removed her from the slot on June 20 but the step was challenged before the Lahore High Court by the members of the bar.
Consequently, Asma Hamid decided to walk out of herpost and tendered resignation to end the controversy.
