Punjab Govt Taking Steps For Poverty Alleviation: Naghma Mushtaq

MULTAN, Jan 6 (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 06th Jan, 2017 ) : Provincial Minister for Zakat & Ushr Naghma Mushtaq Laang said that government was providing financial assistance to deserving people for their education, technical skill and health facilities through transparent manner.
She said the Punjab government had increased funds earmarked for deserving people, adding that about Rs 660 million funds had been added in the zakat budget this year as compared to previous year.
The minister expressed these views while presiding over a departmental meeting here on Friday.
She said the Punjab government was taking solid steps for poverty alleviation from the society. She informed that zakat department was providing funds to deserving people through various schemes while the funds were being offered through mobile phone service so that it could reach to genuine deserving people.
Naghma said that computerized data of deserving people of Zakat was being compiled across the province. Chairman District Zakat Committee Aamir Saeed Ansari, District Zakat Officer Ismail Sial and other officials were also present on the occasion.
