Punjab Govt To Launch ‘Apna Ghar Housing Authority’ For Homeless People

A new city is being considered to be built between Kallar Kahar and Bhera.
Lahore (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 28th September, 2018) The Punjab government has announced to develop a housing authority to provide residence facilities to the homeless people.
According to sources, the ‘Apna Ghar Authority’ will be established. Resolutions to provide houses to the homeless under ‘Apna Ghar Scheme’ will be passed in Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Assemblies as well.
Moreover, a new city is also being considered to be built between Kallar Kahar and Bhera.
The provincial government has decided to take applications from the homeless people from mid October.
Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Political Affairs Naeem-ul-Haq had recently said that the government is launching 5 million low cost affordable houses project to be completed in five years.
He had said that soon the project would be launched as the demand of housing in the country is very high. He said that the construction of 5 million houses will not only boost construction sector but also bring boom to other allied industries.
