Punjab Highway Patrol (PHP) have registered 2,087 cases against violators of traffic rules in the province during last month

LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 19th Nov, 2018 ) :Punjab Highway Patrol (PHP) have registered 2,087 cases against violators of traffic rules in the province during last month.

The PHP sources said that the teams impounded 66,326 motorcycles for using fake registration number plates or green number plates.

During the drive against illicit arms, liquor and drugs, the PHP teams recovered 9 kalashnikovs, 12 rifles, 42 carbines/guns, 202 pistols, 10,400 litter liquor, 86,401 gram hashish and 1,420 gram heroin from culprits during the same period.

PHP Traffic Management posts issued 14,954 tickets of Rs 6,759,624 to violators.

The PHP teams also arrested 234 proclaimed offenders and 76 court absconders. The PHP teams helped 17,042 commuters besides reuniting 63 lost children with their parents and 332 first aid provided to injured persons.

Under Green Highway drive, 156,160 plants of various kinds were planted in beat areas of the posts, upon which, 62,948 plants survived and reached at natural growth.

Furthermore, the PHP removed 2,148 temporary encroachments.

A comprehensive training programme was also organised for training of PHP officials.
