Qila Saifullah's national park's wildlife management charges US $30,000 fee from hunters for " Markhor hunting " and the collected money is being used to support the remaining species' population.

Talking to APP Dr Nadeem Omer, CEO said, the National Park of Qilla Saifullah has a lot of attraction for tourists.

A rare mountain goat, the Markhor, was brought back from the brink of extinction and has re-inhabited much of its original range, he said.

He said that an example of the successful implementation of sport of hunting as a conservation tool in the remote mountains of the country.

However, a community controlled conservation programme that used limited trophy hunting to raise funds for Markhor conservation succeeded in increasing the goats' population from 200 to 3,500.
