Quetta: Blast In Civil Hospital, 40 Killed And More Than 20 Injured

Quetta, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 8th August, 2016) : A bomb was exploded in Civil Hospital in Quetta, killing 40 people; more than 20 people were injured in the blast. The injured included former President of Balochistan Bar Taj Mohammad Kakar.
The explosion was so intense that it was heard from far places, people heard gunfire after the explosion. Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif has directed the provincial government for immediate arrest of the involved in the incident.
Balochistan Bar Association President Asif Anwar Kasi Were killed in firing by unknown persons at Manujan Road, Quetta, his body was brought to the hospital, due to which a large number of advocates was present.
An underscored blast occurred on exterior doors of Accident and Emergency Unit, gunfire sounds were also heard after the explosion. The explosion resulted in killing 40 people and over 20 were injured, dead included Shehzad Khan cameraman of Aaj tv, while reporter Fareed Ullah, Mahmood cameraman of Dawn news and former President Taj Mohammad Kakar from Balochistan Bar badly injured, some of the injured are being reported critical.
The explosion caused panic in the hospital, emergency has been declared at the hospital. Security and rescue services rushed to the spot and started rescue operation and the hospital entrance door are being closed and investigations are now underway.
Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif has strongly condemned the blast and directed to the local government to arrest the culprits involved in the incident. Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan has also strongly condemned the blast and expressed grief over the loss of precious lives.
