Railways devises security plan for Eid special trains, stations

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News -6th Sept,2016) : Pakistan Railways police have devised a security plan of special trains, railway stations and its tracks to avoid any untoward incident during the Eid-ul-Azha.

"The Railways police have directed the concerned authorities to check strictly passenger's baggage and cargo before departing of every train at across country railway stations," official sources in the Ministry of Railways told APP.

The sources said the decision was taken on the directives of Minister for Railways Khawaja Saad Rafique as the department had arranged special trains in country to meet with the extra rush of passengers.

Pakistan Railways has enhanced the security measures with the help of the provincial governments and local police to avoid any untoward incident, they added. They said that pedestrian teams of railway staffers will also patrol the railway tracks and commandos have been deployed at the stations.

"Special instructions have been issued to all superintendents of railways police to tighten up the security to avoid any untoward incident across the country," they added.

Pakistan Railways have deputed sufficient force on the exit and entry points of all the stations and strict watch be carried out over suspicious persons and entry of un-authorized person would be blocked at Railway Stations regarding security point of view.

To a question, they said that commando force is deputed at vulnerable installations and in the trains.The services of Bomb Disposal staff would also be utilized for the search of luggage and passengers at various Railways Stations.

All the SPs Railway are directed to conduct comprehensive check and search the empty rakes before stationed at the platforms and will present on Eid holidays and randomly check the trains, stations and escorting staff, they added. They said the passengers have been urged to inform police on seeing any unattended luggage or shady person on railway station and train.
