
Rain-thunderstorm Likely At Few Places Of Upper Region

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 15th Augst,2016) : Rain-thunderstorm is expected at few places of upper Punjab, Upper Khaber Pakhtunkhwa, FATA, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan in next 24 hours while mainly hot and humid weather to prevail in other parts of the country Rainfall is forecast in Khaber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) at (Malakand, Hazara, Peshawar, Kohat divisions), in upper Punjab at (Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Lahore divisions), FATA, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan. Weak seasonal low lies over Balochistan.
Weak monsoon currents are penetrating over upper parts of the country. A weak westerly wave is still prevailing over upper parts of the country and likely to persist during next 24 to 48 hours, an official of Met office told APP. In last 24 hours weather remained hot and dry in most parts of the country.
However, rain-thunderstorm with gusty winds occurred at isolated places of upper Punjab, upper KP, Islamabad, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan.
Rainfall recorded during this time span was KP: Malamjabba=71mm, Balakot=40mm, Risalpur=38mm, Kakul=19mm, Cherat=16mm, Dir=11mm, Saidu Sharif=4mm, Kohat=05mm, Pattan=4mm, Mirkhani=3mm, Kalam=3mm, Peshawar City=3mm, Bannu=2mm, Punjab: Okara=26mm, Kasur=22mm, Mandibahauddin=14mm, Islamabad (Saidpur=05mm, Golra, Bokra, Z.P=1mm), Murree=4mm, Gujranwala=3mm, Jhelum=2mm, Sialkot A/P=1mm, Jhang=1mm, Mangla=1mm, Kashmir: Garhi Dupatta 37mm, Muzaffarabad=26mm, Rawalakot=19mm, Gilgit-Baltistan: Gupis 03mm, Bagrote 03mm, Hunza=1mm. Maximum temperatures recorded on Monday were Nokkundi, Sukkar, Turbat, Dadu, Bhakkar 41øC, Dalbandin, Sibbi, Rohri, Sh.
