Rain With Snowfall Likely At Scattered Places

ISLAMABAD, Jan 3 (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 03rd Jan, 2017 ) : Rain with snowfall over the hills is expected at scattered places of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, upper Punjab FATA, Islamabad, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir during next 24 hours, while cold and dry weather to continue elsewhere in the country.
Rainfall is forecast in Punjab at Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Sargodha, Lahore divisions during this time span while dense foggy conditions would likely to continue over plain areas of Punjab and upper Sindh during night and morning hours.
A fresh westerly wave is affecting upper parts of the country and likely to persist till Saturday, an official of Met office told APP. In last 24 hours, light rain/drizzle with light snow over the hills occurred at a few places in Malakand, Hazara, Peshawar, Rawalpindi divisions and Islamabad.
Dense foggy conditions prevailed over plain areas of Punjab and upper Sindh. Rainfall recorded during this time duration was KP: Mirkhani=5mm, Dir=4mm, Chitral=3mm, Malamjabba=3mm, Pattan=3mm, Kalam=2mm, Peshawar City=1mm, Saidu Sharif=1mm, Balakot=Trace, Peshawar A/P=Trace, Punjab: Kamra=1mm, Islamabad Z.P=Trace, Rawalpindi=Trace, Sargodha=Trace.
Minimum temperatures recorded on Tuesday were Gilgit-Baltistan (Skardu -10�C, Gupis -05�C, Gilgit -03�C, Hunza, Astore -02�C, Bagrote -01�C), Upper KP (Parachinar -04�C, Chitral, Malamjabba -02�C, Kalam -01�C), north Balochistan (Kalat -02�C), Dir-00�C, Muzaffarabad, Murree 02�C, Quetta 03�C, Peshawar 05�C, Islamabad 06�C, Faisalabad 08�C, Lahore 09�C, Hyderabad 11�C, Multan 12�C and Karachi 13�C.
