Rains, Hailstorm Damage Wheat Crops On Hundreds Of Acres In Punjab

The damages could further escalate if the weather the current spell of rains continues during a couple of next days
LAHORE- (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News- 16th April 2019) Heavy rains and hailstorms have destroyed wheat crops on hundreds of acres in Punjab.
Farmers say they faced losses of millions and loss could be increased if the rains continued in coming days.
There are reports of death and injuries in rain and thunderstorm related incidents in a different part of the country.
But the massive rains have also destroyed different crops spreading over hundreds of acres in Punjab and Balochistan.
According to media reports, heavy rains hit districts of Jhang, Toba Tek Singh, Khanewal, Bahawalpur, Bahawalnagar and areas of central and upper Punjab.
The wheat crops are ready for harvesting in the area but with the current situation concerns among the farming is rising about damages.
Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar has appealed to the people to pray from Allah Almighty for relief and weather normality.
