Rana Sanaullah Gets Lifetime Security Over 'threats'

Rana Sana says he is facing life threats from different religious and extremist groups.

Lahore (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 10th August, 2018) The Lahore High Court (LHC) has granted lifetime security to former provincial minister and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PMLN) leader Rana Sanaullah.

Justice Shams Mehmood Mirza held a hearing on Rana Sana’s petition in LHC today. The judge issued notices to Punjab IG, chief secretary and other parties involved in the case till next week.

Rana Sana had adopted that he has been facing severe threats to his life from different religious and extremist groups.

Acting upon Chief Justice Mian Saqib Nisar’s orders, Punjab IG Arif Nawaz had in April withdrawn 4,610 police officials deployed for security.

He had applied for security at all relevant departments but none of them responded to his plea following which he filed a petition in LHC.

Deciding in Rana Sana’s favour, the LHC has directed Punjab police not to take back his security.
