ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 19th Jul, 2025) The spillways of Rawal Dam will be opened at 6:00 AM on Sunday (July 20) after the reservoir’s water level surged to 1,748 feet following continuous rainfall in the Federal capital.
According to the Deputy Commissioner’s Office, the residents of low-lying areas, particularly those living along Korang Nullah, have been advised to take precautionary measures and avoid unnecessary movement near streams and water channels.
The statement said that the step was taken to regulate the dam’s water level and manage the increased inflow from the catchment areas.
Rescue teams, along with relevant authorities, have been placed on high alert to respond to any emergency situation. Citizens are urged to stay updated via official sources and cooperate with local administration./APP-rzr-mkz
