Rawapindi Police Continue Crackdown Against Kite Sellers

RAWALPINDI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 10th Feb, 2018 ) :The Rawalpindi Police continued its special crackdown against kite sellers and arrested six accused with over 6,000 kites and 100 kite flying string rolls.
According to a police spokesman Saturday, the crackdown was launched on the special directive of City Police Officer (CPO) Israr Ahmed Khan. The spokesman said the Westridge and New Town police conducted raids and booked six kite sellers after recovering more than 6,000 kites and string rolls.
Waris Khan Police arrested kite seller namely Ahsan, who was using Facebook to contact the customers. It may be added that the CPO has suspended Station House Officer (SHO) of City Police Station as a young boy was injured after his throat was cut by a kite flying string on Friday.
The spokesman said on the instructions of Punjab government raids would continue to arrest the kite sellers and kite flying ban violators. No one would be allowed to violate the kite flying ban and action in accordance with the law would be taken against kite sellers and kite flying ban violators, he added.
He said special squads had been formed to arrest the violators. Deputy superintendents of police and SHOs were also taking part in the operation.
