ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 22nd Jan, 2019 ) :Senator of Pakistan People's Party Mian Raza Rabbani Tuesday said Parliament should take a lead on serious issue of extra judicial killings and missing persons, otherwise history would give harsh verdict on these counts.

Speaking in the Senate on a point of public importance, he said if Parliament failed to act, then history will have a harsh verdict against them.

Senator Raza Rabbani asked the leadership in Senate to constitute a Committee of the Whole to look into the cases of extra judicial killings.

He said there was a specific list of extra judicial killings and it showed that Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and Akbar Bugti were apparently martyred through a well-thought out design.

It seemed a license was given against terrorists and then it was free for all which led to incidents like Sahiwal tragedy in which parents were murdered before eyes of their children, he noted.

The Senator lamented the extra judicial killings continued in the absence of rule of law.There were cases of missing persons and pressure was put on the journalists and the media owners, he added.

Senator Usman Kakar said Pakhtuns and Afghans fought with British for 150 years and then British divided the Pakhtuns and Afghan nation. However, British did not dishonorthe Pakhtuns, adding they also faced the brunt of drone attacks, besides internally displacementof people.
