Reconstruction Of University Road To Be Completed Soon: Mayor

KARACHI, Dec 6 (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 06th Dec, 2016 ) : Mayor Karachi Waseem Akhter has said that re-construction work of University Road that was started earlier would be completed as soon as possible.

This important corridor was facing traffic jam due to bad condition of road and causing trouble for citizens, he said. He said this during a visit to University Road on Tuesday to check the repairing work, said a statement.

The Mayor said in the first phase cracks were being filled up and afterwards this road will be reconstructed after re-routing of traffic to alternate way.

The Mayor directed concerned staff to accelerate pace of work and complete it at the earliest.

He said the portion of University Road from Hasan Square to NIPA Chowrangi and from NED University to Safoora Goth being reconstructed where sewerage system and street lights will also be installed before re-construction.

He instructed the staff to ensure 24 hours work on this road to finish it soon. Municipal Commissioner Dr. Badar Jameel, DMC East Chairman Moeed Anwer, Sr. Director MS and others were also present on this occasion.
