Registration Under Way For Providing Subsidised Motorcycles To Women

The registration process for provision of subsidized motorcycles to women is in progress in the district.
MULTAN, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 20th Feb, 2018 ) :The registration process for provision of subsidized motorcycles to women is in progress in the district. According to focal person "Women-on-Wheel" programme Iram Saleemi, Punjab government is taking different steps for welfare of women and giving them their due rights equal to men.
She informed that intending women could get registration forms from Punjab Bank branches of Gulghast and Model Town. The government is providing subsidy on motorcycles. Every intending woman would have to deposit Rs 3000 (not refundable) for filing application for motorcycle.
However, the motorcycles would be given after draw. The successful women would deposit Rs 27000 initially and then Rs 1,856 per month instalment for period of one year. She also remarked that traffic police have started providing training to women.
Initially, the women would be issued learner license. She said that they were also arranging awareness sessions in colleges and universities to promote motorcycle use among women.
