Rehabilitating Special Children, Joint Responsibility: Zamurd Khan

LAHORE, Jan 3 (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 03rd Jan, 2017 ) : Patron-in-Chief of Pakistan Sweet Home Zamurd Khan said rehabilitation of special children and making them useful citizens by providing them education and training was joint responsibility of the government and society.
Talking to APP in connection with International Day of Persons with Disabilities observed in the country on Tuesday, he said those people and institutions serving the ailing humanity were our precious asset and their welfare efforts were commendable.
He said social gap between special persons and society should be reduced. He added that necessary framework in collaboration with the UNESCO was being prepared under which special children would get education in other schools.
He said a comprehensive policy was underway to devise a programme for the rehabilitation of special children which would help make them part of the social mainstream. Zamurd Khan said: "islam stresses upon its followers to work for the welfare of humanity." He added that helping the helpless and downtrodden people was the best way to fulfil their rights.
He said looking after special children was the best example of respect to humanity and children could be included in a development process of the country if they were educated properly.
