Rehabilitation Work Of Road Linking To Sector I-14 To Be Completed This Fiscal Year

Rehabilitation work for 24 feet wide metaled road starting from GT Road and linking sectors I-14 to sector I-16 is in progress and will be completed during current fiscal year.

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 15th Nov, 2018 ) :Rehabilitation work for 24 feet wide metaled road starting from GT Road and linking sectors I-14 to sector I-16 is in progress and will be completed during current fiscal year.

Minister of State for Interior Shehryar Afridi in a written reply to the Upper House of the Parliament said that repair /rehabilitation work for worn out roads will be carried out during current fiscal year.

He said ditches along roads in Sector I-14/3 and street 22 Sector I-14/2 will be filled within four weeks since work is in progress .

To another question the minister said no Skyscrapers / high-rise buildings have been/are being built in Islamabad without obtaining NOC from the Authority.

However, on the outskirts of the Sectoral areas, a number of such buildings have been constructed and were being constructed without approval.

After promulgation of the Local Government Act, 2015, the responsibility of exercising the building control in the area of ICT has been assigned to Capital Development Authority.

The Authority is in process of strengthening building control & a separate Building Control Directorate for Housing Societies have been established to control all illegal/un-authorized constructions.

A number of buildings have been sealed on account of construction without approval. Moreover, the utility departments including IESCO and SNGPL have asked not to provide utility connections to any building without having the NOC from CDA.
