
Relief Cheques Handed Over To Flood-affectees In Chakwal

LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 20th Jul, 2025) On the special instructions of Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif, Member of the Punjab Assembly Malik Tanveer Awan and Deputy Commissioner Chakwal Sarah Hayat visited the residence of Shoaib Afzal and his son Haider Ali, both of whom tragically lost their lives when their house roof collapsed during recent heavy rains in Khewal.
On behalf of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, they presented a relief cheque of Rs. 2.5 million to the widow of the late Shoaib Afzal, who herself sustained serious injuries in the incident. The financial assistance included Rs.
1 million each for the deceased father and son, and Rs. 500,000 for the injured widow, said a handout issued here on Sunday.
The bereaved woman expressed her gratitude to Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif and her team for the timely support.
MPA Malik Tanveer Awan and DC Sarah Hayat extended condolences on behalf of the Chief Minister and assured her that the Punjab government stands firmly by her side in this moment of grief.
Fateha was offered for the departed souls of Shoaib Afzal and Haider Ali, while special prayers were made for the full recovery of the injured widow.
