
Rescue 1122 Put On High Alert For Possible Flooding

RAWALPINDI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 20th Jul, 2025) Rescue 1122 Rawalpindi has been put on high alert on Sunday as heavy rains are expected in Rawalpindi and Islamabad starting from July 21.
The emergency preparations have been completed to deal with any possible situation.
According to Rescue 1122 media coordinator Muhammad Usman Gujjar, Code Red has been enforced in Rawalpindi.
All staff holidays have been cancelled, and rescue teams have been deployed in low-lying areas.
Heavy machinery and emergency equipment have also been dispatched to key points.
In view of possible urban flooding, emergency drills have been carried out, and Community Emergency Response Teams (CERTs) have been activated to assist the public.
The Rescue Control Room is now operating 24/7 to monitor all activities and ensure timely response.
Rescue 1122 has issued important safety instructions for the public. The people were instructed to stay away from nullahs, rivers and electricity poles during rain. They were asked not to take shelter under weak or damaged roofs and move to safe places in case of urban flooding.
Parents were advised to keep children away from water channels and danger zones.
In case of any emergency, call the Rescue Helpline 1122 immediately.
Special alert has been issued for residents living around Nallah Lai, as the area is prone to flooding during heavy rain.
Rescue 1122 spokesman said that all officers and staff are on duty in the field and fully prepared to help the people during the monsoon spell.
