Revised sugar price notified in Sargodha

SARGODHA, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 20th Jul, 2025) Deputy Commissioner Capt (R) Muhammad Waseem on Sunday

issued a notification regarding sugar prices across the district.

The revised prices, effective immediately, follow directives from

the Punjab government and Cane Commissioner Punjab to curb

artificial inflation and stabilize sugar rates in public interest, official

sources said.

According to the notification, sugar prices will be implemented in

a phased manner over four months in the district.

From July 15, 2025, the ex-mill price is set at Rs 165 per kg, while

the retail price is Rs 173 per kg and from August 15, these would

rise to Rs 167 and Rs 175, respectively.

On September 15, the rates will increase to Rs 169 (ex-mill) and

Rs 177 (retail).

Finally, from October 15, 2025, sugar would be sold at Rs.171

ex-mill and Rs 179 retail per kilogram.

The Deputy Commissioner directed all Price Control Magistrates

to ensure strict implementation of rates within their respective areas.

He further instructed that official price lists must be prominently

displayed at all retail outlets, and warned that immediate action

would be taken against any violations.
