Robber Shot Dead In Encounter

RAWALPINDI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 19th Jul, 2025) A robber was shot dead in an exchange of fire with police in the Saddar Barooni area while two of his accomplices managed to escape.

According to police, the incident occurred when a citizen informed the Saddar Barooni Police Station about a robbery attempt.

Police acted swiftly and tried to stop three robbers riding a motorcycle.

However, the robbers opened fire on the police party.

In retaliatory fire, one of the robbers was killed.

He was later identified as Samin, who had been involved in the killing of a 16-year-old Hafiz-e-Quran student in Saddar Barooni a few days ago.

The two other robbers fled the scene while continuing to fire at police.

Senior police officers reached the spot soon after the incident. The body of the deceased robber has been shifted to a hospital, and a search operation is underway to arrest the escaped suspects.

City Police Officer (CPO) Syed Khalid Mehmood Hamdani appreciated the efforts of the Saddar police team and said, “Those who attack the lives and property of citizens will not escape the grip of the law.”
