Rs 12273.857 Mln Tax Collected In Current FY: Chawla

KARACHI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 23rd Sep, 2018 ) :Sindh Minister for Excise and Taxation and Narcotics Control Mukesh Kumar Chawla has said that Rs 12273.857 million have been recovered in terms of various taxes during the current fiscal year.
The Minister, chairing a meeting at his office, said that Rs.10385.752 million were recovered in the same period during the last financial year, said a statement on Sunday.
Secretary Excise and Taxation & Narcotics Aijaz Ahmed Mahessar, Director Generals Shabbir Ahmed Shaikh, Shoaib Ahmed Siddiqui and other officers also attended the meeting.
Director General Excise and Taxation Shabbir Ahmed Shaikh told the meeting that Rs. 1178.313 million were recovered in Motor Vehicle Tax, Rs 9409.767 million were in term of Infrastructure Cess Tax and Rs 106.455 millions were recovered in Professional tax.
Over Rs. 745.532 million were recovered under the head of property tax, Rs.16 million under Entertainment Duty while remaining amount was recovered in other taxes, he said.
Chawla expressed his satisfaction over tax recovery position, however, he asked the officers to pay more attention to taxrecovery to achieve target.
