DERA GHAZI KHAN, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 25th Nov, 2017 ) :Federal Minister for Power Sardar Awais Ahmad Khan Leghari has said that work on uplift projects was continuing at a rapid pace to make recreational place Fort Munro the Murree of south Punjab.
He said that Rs 2.5 billion would be spent for provision of solar energy, recreational parks, water supply scheme, construction of roads and other projects there. The minister was addressing public meetings at various union councils of NA-173 constituency.
He said that initiatives were being taken to provide the latest facilities to electricity consumers across the country, adding that other issues in electricity distribution companies would be resolved after complete elimination of loadsheding.
He said that they would go to people for vote during the next general elections on the basis of performance. He said that the bill for awarding strict punishments to persons involved in sending extra bills to electricity consumers had been approved by the National Assembly.
Chairman Union Council Allah Ditta Leghari said that Rs 65 million funds had been provided for uplift schemes in the UC. The federal minister thanked the people, who had joined the PML-N Leghari group.
