RTI Act Extended To Merged Districts, PATA

An official communiqu issued here Monday said that the provincial government was determined to ensure provision of basic rights to people, good governance and transparency in the public organizations and extension of RTI to merged districts and PATA was a step in this regard.
It said that RTI would enable the local people of tribal districts to get all information related to the public departments including allocation of funds, developmental schemes, appointments, tenders and allotment of contracts through RTI.
It said that it would also improve governance in the merged districts besides enabling the people to have eye on performance of government departments, officers and officials.
Chief Commissioner RTI Hanif Orakzai has said that the commission has prepared a comprehensive plan to create awareness among masses in tribal areas regarding importance of RTI, adding that the commissioner would arrange awareness seminars, tv and radio talk shows and other programs to sensitize public.
