Russia to Carry Out Energy Projects With Pakistan in Future - Senior Russian Diplomat

Russia will implement a number of energy projects with Pakistan in the future, as economic cooperation between the two countries is growing, Zamir Kabulov, the head of the Russian Foreign Ministry's Second Asian Department and presidential envoy for Afghanistan, said during a reception on the occasion of Pakistan Day on Monday

MOSCOW (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 25th March, 2019) Russia will implement a number of energy projects with Pakistan in the future, as economic cooperation between the two countries is growing, Zamir Kabulov, the head of the Russian Foreign Ministry's Second Asian Department and presidential envoy for Afghanistan, said during a reception on the occasion of Pakistan Day on Monday.

"The [Russian-Pakistani] trade and economic cooperation is boosting. Last year, the bilateral trade grew by about 33 percent up to $732 million.

The implementation of a number of major energy projects, including construction of the North-South gas pipeline from Karachi to Lahore, is on the agenda," Kabulov stated.

The Russian-Pakistani relations have deepened in recent years, with the two countries expanding defense, trade, commerce, economy and anti-terror cooperation.

Both countries are also members of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization and are stepping up their cooperation in this multilateral format.
