Speaking on the occasion, she said the program launched in Vehari would benefit 185,000 families of the district who were poorest of the poor. These families have been registered on merit under transparent procedure, she added.
Saira said it was the vision of her leader Nawaz Sharif to ensure that no poor was deprived of quality health-care due to lack of resources. "We believe in performance alone and the largest ever health program providing best services free of cost to the poor speaks for itself.
We have taken major strides in health, energy, security and infrastructure with projects completed in record time which is unprecedented in the last 70 years," she added. She said that when others were indulging in politics of hatred, sloganeering and intrigues, we were busy in resolving the most critical issues of energy, security, health and infrastructure that directly impact the lives and welfare of the people.
The minister said, "health caravan is moving forward on its way to success. The Prime Ministers National Health Program had been planned to be initiated in a phased manner and Alhamdulillah we are progressing fast on it." Now our poor families earning below Rs.6000 per month will get the same treatment which was meant only for the rich." "Treatment facilities will be equally provided for the rich and the poor for all kinds of ailments including cancer, cardiac diseases, burn and other general ailments.
All treatments will be provided free of cost for the poor," she added. The minister said, "Our first priority is to provide state of the art health facilities at the government hospitals. But if required, consulting private hospital would also be available to the poor families and all expenses will be borne by the government."
