The Islamabad High Court (IHC) Thursday accepted the pre-arrest bail plea of Pakistan Peoples' Party (PPP)'s leader Faisal Sakhi Butt till January 28, in a property corruption case
A divisional bench comprising Justice Aamer Farooq and Justice Mohsin Akhter Kiyani heard the plea filed by Mr. Butt seeking his interim bail.
During hearing, the petitioner's counsel pleaded before the bench that his client could sell his property against any cost under Property Act, adding that National Accountability Bureau (NAB) was not authorized to inquire about one's transaction in this regard.
This was a matter of private sale deed and it didn't involve corruption practice or misuse of public office, he further contended. He said his client was attending the NAB inquiries and cooperating with it.
He prayed the court to grant Faisal Sakhi Butt interim bail till the accountability court completed its trial in corruption case.
After hearing the arguments, the bench accepted the bailagainst surety bonds worth Rs 50,000 and served notices to therespondents for January 28.
