Sanjrani for increasing parliamentary exchanges with Australia

Pakistan attaches highest priority to its relations with Australia and looking forward for increasing the parliamentary exchanges (with Australia) to steer economic cooperation and help explore new avenues for increasing bilateral trade, said Chairman Senate Muhammad Sadiq Sanjrani

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 24th May, 2019 ) :Pakistan attaches highest priority to its relations with Australia and looking forward for increasing the parliamentary exchanges (with Australia) to steer economic cooperation and help explore new avenues for increasing bilateral trade, said Chairman Senate Muhammad Sadiq Sanjrani.

Talking to High Commissioner of Australia Margaret Adamson, chairman lauded Australian cooperation in education and development sector, saying Pakistan would like to extend this interaction to other areas of mutual ties, especially promoting parliamentary linkages and enhancing people to people contacts, said a press release.

Chairman Senate said that Pakistan and Australia enjoy close and cooperative relations. He underscored the need to explore new avenues for cooperation as trade and economic relations were an important component of our ties.

"Institutional mechanism exists in the form of Joint Trade Committee which should meet regularly to find ways and means to enhance trade links," Sanjrani observed.

He said that there was huge scope for initiating joint ventures in different sectors, business and investment community of both sides can explore possibilities. He expressed his satisfaction that Pakistani mangoes have found access to Australian markets. Enhanced parliamentary linkages would be helpful in opening up new vistas of cooperation.

Australian High commissioner agreed with the views of Chairman Senate and said that huge potential exists for enhance trade and economic linkages.

Both discussed matters of bilateral significance besides exchanging views on further boosting cooperation.

She thanked Chairman Senate for warm welcome at the Parliament House.
