PESHAWAR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 24th Jan, 2019 ) :Awami National Party (ANP) provincial general secretary and parliamentary leader Sardar Hussain Babak Thursday welcomed the government's announcement of constructing five million houses across the country, but called for reconstruction of damaged houses in merged districts on priority.

Addressing an event at District Bar Room here, he said that the government should have to announce reconstruction of damaged houses, infrastructure and businesses in the merged districts, adding that several tribal people are forced live in camps as their houses were damaged during military operations against the militants.

The ANP leader also demanded also early and respectable repatriation and resettlement of displaced tribal people in their respective areas so that their sense of deprivation could be addressed.

Referring to 18th amendment, Babak said that some forces intend to roll back the historic amendment to take back autonomy of provinces, adding that ANP would strongly resist against any such move.

On the occasion, he strongly condemned termination of thousands of journalists and other staff by different media entities across the country in general and in KP in specific.

He said that government should have to take notice of the issue and bound the media groups to give job security to employees especially journalists.

Similarly, he said that hundreds of thousands of cases were pending in different courts of the country while the former chief justice was collecting funds for dam, adding that all the institutions should have to work in their ambit.

Babak said the issue of missing persons needs immediate government attention as it was causing anxiety among the people. He also demanded of the government to bring the murderers of Tahir Dawar and perpetrators of the incident to justice.
